Cal’s All-Star Angel Foundation, Inc. – a tax
exempt, 501(c)(3) non-profit pediatric cancer
foundation. In June of 2005, Cal Sutter, a
12-year old South Elgin Little League All Star,
was diagnosed with Acute Myelogenous Leukemia.
He endured several intensive treatments, but
ultimately succumbed to his illness on August
28th, 2006. Even though Cal lost his battle to
this disease, the courage he displayed
throughout inspired us to start this Foundation
to help other children and families battling
childhood cancers.
The purposes of the Foundation include granting
wishes and providing financial assistance to
kids fighting cancer and their families. Recent
wishes and assistance include:
• Tickets to the Barnum & Bailey Circus and Sea
World.
• A birthday party at Build-A-Bear followed by
dinner at the Rain Forest Café.
• $1,000 to United Airlines to help fund their
Fantasy Flight to the North Pole for children
from local hospitals with terminal and serious
illnesses.
• Mortgage, rent and car payments for families
in need.
• Gift cards to several families for groceries,
prescriptions and clothing.
• For the hospitals, we have purchased a total
of three Nintendo Wii systems.!
