    • Fundraising Information:

As part of our Charity Running Team, we are asking you to fundraise a minimum of $350 per runner.  We will have post close spots once the full marathon is sold out (October 10th only).  These spots will be available on a first come, first served basis and will require a $500 fundraising minimum.  Our fundraising minimums are purposely set at a low number so that they are easily achievable.  The average marathon charity runner raised $1,150 in 2009.  It would be great to have our runners set their fundraising goals higher than our minimum.  Every child battling leukemia or lymphoma and is being treated at Children’s Memorial Hospital is eligible for a $750 wish.  One goal is to set your fundraising at a “per wish” level and for those that raise at least $1,000, Cal’s all-Star Angel will cover all registration fees.  The more funds we raise, the more people that know about our mission “Granting wishes and providing financial assistance to kids fighting cancer and their families.”
    • Cal’s All-Star Angel will also provide you with online fundraising support with your own team’s customized web page via Active.com.
    • We will also provide you with a fundraising letter 6 weeks before your race.  Feel free to customize your own.  We suggest you send this letter/e-mail to family, friends, neighbors, co-workers.
    • If you run both the half/full marathon you only have to raise one amount
    • Every dollar you raise will make a difference in the lives of these brave children

Training should begin on May 1st.  If you have never run any sort of distance more than a half mile or so, you should start doing cardiovascular activity for 30 minutes a day before training begins.

If you are ready to run for Cal’s All Star Angel Foundation or just need more information, please e-mail or call our Charity Athletic Director - Irene Eby at irene@calangels.org or  847-909-1480 .

BE PROUD WHEN YOU CROSS THAT FINISH LINE AND KNOW YOU ARE RUNNING FOR ALL OF THE BRAVE CHILDREN BATTLING CANCER!
