Honor the life and legacy of Cal Sutter: Join the 31 Miles for 31 Years Activity Challenge!

Quick Registration Access HERE!

June 7th, 2024 would have been Cal Sutter's 31st birthday. After an extremely tough battle with Acute Myelogenous Leukemia, we tragically lost Cal at just 13 years old. Cal was incredibly kind and generous and cared far more for those around him than for himself.

Cal's Angels was founded in 2007 to ensure Cal's legacy was not forgotten, and 17 years later, he has impacted hundreds of local families.

Honor Cal's legacy with every step, pedal, or swim you take. In honor of Cal's active spirit, and what would have been his 31st birthday, we challenge you to walk, run, bike, dance, or swim 31 miles in the month of June to help raise money for kids fighting cancer.

How Can I Participate in the Challenge?

1. Start your Pledge It fundraising page HERE: https://bit.ly/31Milesfor31YearsChallenge. It is quick and easy to get started!
2. Share your fundraising page with your friends and family. Encourage your network to help you raise money for local kids fighting cancer through the activity of your choice.
3. Get active... go, go, go! We encourage you to track your mileage using the fitness tracker of your choice (examples include Garmin, Strava, Apple Fitness, etc.)
4. Keep your supporters up-to-date with your progress to let them know how you are doing at achieving your mileage goal.
5. Complete the challenge once you hit 31 miles! (Or, keep it going and see how many total miles you can complete.)

Prizes for Top Fundraisers:

- Raise $100 in donations, and receive an exclusive Cal's Angels "Fight Pediatric Cancer" t-shirt.
- Raise $300 in donations, and receive the t-shirt, PLUS an exclusive Cal's Angels embroidered athletic quarter-zip
- Raise $500 in donations, and the t-shirt, the
embroidered athletic quarter-zip, PLUS an “RTIC” brand Cal's Angels stainless steel cup in your choice of yellow or navy

Tip: Lead by example plus get a head start by donating to your own fundraiser!

Do I have to do the activity challenge to honor Cal's 31st Birthday?

No! While we always encourage daily activity, we know this is not feasible for everyone to achieve, and that is OK! If you want to get involved you can start a fundraising page and encourage your friends and family to donate to Cal's Angels to help local kids fighting cancer. (Plus, you are still eligible to earn fundraising prizes!)

How can I honor Cal Sutter's 31st Birthday without participating in the challenge?

You can make a donation of any amount at any time at calsangels.org/donate. When you make a donation, make sure to choose “Happy 31st Birthday Cal!” in the drop-down menu. If your donation reaches the $100 minimum prize threshold, someone from the Cal's Angels team will be reaching out to you for your shirt size and mailing address.

Special Opportunity for Recurring Donors: Honor Cal Fight Pediatric Cancer Year-Round and Receive a 2024 Pediatric Cancer Awareness T-Shirt this September!

- Anyone who sets up a monthly recurring donation of $31 or more during June will receive a 2024 Pediatric Cancer Awareness T-Shirt this September.
- Current recurring donors will also receive a shirt this September.
- If you have a $30 recurring donation, we encourage you to increase it to $31 in honor of Cal.

When will I receive my prize(s)?

- On July 1st when the challenge officially ends, we will look at the donation totals of those with fundraising pages, as well as those who make outright donations at calsangels.org to determine who will be receiving what prizes. Prizes will ship in July.
- Current/New Recurring Donors: Your Awareness shirt will be shipped at the end of August. Be on the lookout for an email requesting your size and mailing address.

How Can I Convert Activity To Miles?

Miles can be accomplished by any type of activity you choose to complete in the 31 Miles for 31 Years activity challenge! You can use the following conversion to convert your activity to miles or your steps to miles.

Convert to miles:

1 mile = 30 minutes of activity
1 mile = 2,000 steps

Examples:

Completing 1 hour (60 min) of yoga = 2 miles
Dancing for 30 minutes = 1 mile
Playing pickleball for 90 minutes = 3 miles

Don't be afraid to move YOUR way! We welcome all forms of activity in this challenge.
