“Maintenance started February of 2017 and continues with daily, weekly and monthly chemo drugs as well as spinal taps every 12 weeks. There are new challenges as Mackenzie goes through the different toddler stages and begins to understand more of what is happening to her. Steroid weeks, which are once a month, continue to be a struggle. Her family looks forward to Mackenzie's end of treatment this coming August, however, the worry continues beyond that at frequent checkups throughout her childhood.

Thanks to Cal's Angels for granting her wish of having a puppy. This has helped keep everyone distracted and provides her a lot of enjoyment!” 

Mackenzie was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (B-ALL) at age 3 1/2.
