“Another year another wish granted. Just wanted to thank Cal’s Angels for giving us the opportunity to truly embrace the meaning of the Christmas season.

This is our second year participating in the Fund-A-Wish program.  We met Matthew and his Mom at the Best Buy for his shopping spree.  Matthew is a spunky 5 year old who has leukemia (ALL).  He is currently undergoing chemo but this has not dampened his spirits at all.  In fact he said he didn’t mind losing his hair because girls like bald men!  He knew he wanted Xbox and some games but it was difficult for him to choose what games, he had very discriminating taste.  It was great for my boys to help him pick out Xbox things as they are the experts in this department.  The look on his face when we told him he could get his own flat screen TV was priceless… so was the big hug both he and his mom gave all of us as we said good bye!

Participating in this program is a great way to give a child with cancer something they would never be able to get on their own.  It is nice being able to help them forget they have cancer even if it is for only a short period of time.  They need to feel like a normal kid and do normal kid things.  Both of our wishes have been granted during the Christmas season and what better way to emphasize to all of us the true meaning of Christmas.

We can’t wait to do this again next year!”
