Strong kids. Strong communities.

ABOUT THE PROGRAM

It is with great honor that Cal’s Angels announces a new partnership to further our mission to support families dealing with pediatric cancer.  Effective July 2018, the 12 Oaks Foundation will join Cal’s Angels as one of the programs available to assist families dealing with pediatric cancer.

Cal’s Angels was founded in 2007 after Cal Sutter lost his battle with acute myelogenous leukemia at the age of 13, while the 12 Oaks Foundation was founded in 2010 after Matt Hupp lost his battle with Burkitt’s lymphoma, also at the young age of 13.

When a child is fighting cancer, the entire family is impacted. This partnership will help reach a common goal that goes beyond their individual mission statements to ensure the siblings are never forgotten. The 12 Oaks Sibling Assistance Program, under the Cal’s Angels umbrella of programs, will continue with the original mission to help relieve the financial burden of sports and extracurricular activities for a child and/or their sibling(s).
Our mission of granting wishes, raising awareness and funding research to help kids fighting cancer will remain the same, however, this union will help extend the reach of support to many more children battling cancer as well as their siblings. In addition, this alliance will help bring awareness of pediatric cancer into a broader geographical area.

We are beyond excited to carry on the legacy of these two amazing boys and will continue our efforts, collectively, to help children fighting cancer and their families.

WHY WE DO IT

Because we have lived the battle with pediatric cancer, we understand what these families are going through. The help that we provide these families through our programs is a great resource when they need it the most. We would not be able to continue helping siblings without support from amazing people like you. Learn more about how you can get involved here.

What Our Families Say

“Here is a photo of them this past weekend, they played together on a team and took first place. They truly are happiest on the ice. Again, our hearts are so grateful to your foundation.”

“When I was 14 years old I was diagnosed with Lymphoma, right before the start of my studio competition season. I was shocked that I had cancer and super upset at knowing I was going to miss the competition season with my dance studio. I had been working hard all year in preparation for the competitions. You see, I have been dancing since I was a little girl and always found dance to be a great mix of reducing stress from school and being around a group of nice dancers.

The financial support from the 12 Oaks Foundation has allowed me to continue taking my techniques classes in preparation for my competitions. Thank you so much for your help, and I know my mom was super happy about the help with my dance costs too, due to the medical bills. I am able to continue dancing because of you!”

“Thank you SO, SO much. This means the world to my family right now, especially Oliver! Many children dread their music lessons, but Oliver simply loves his. It’s so important to us that he be able to continue in this activity which helps him to have a focus outside of our difficulties. Thank you to all your donors for this tremendous gift to my family at one of the hardest times in our lives. We are so grateful, from the bottom of our hearts.”
